We signed Owen knowing he was quality, and a proven goalscorer in England. He flopped when he got here with injuries, he was a quality signing at the time.

Gyan is untested in England, not a proven goalscorer (well, not a excellent record) and he's not classed as a quality signing until he's proved himself.

But Bramble cost almost nothing, and is looking like being good enough a season long regular, so its not much of an argument.

Its simply not possible to buy a fully established striker in the current climate, cos they will always go for big money and to a champions league club. In Bent and Gyan we have got the best strikeforce that a club in our situation can have - and its really good.
