The Times newspaper will be printed in tabloid form only from Monday after more than 200 years as a broadsheet, it has been announced.
The decision to scrap its broadsheet edition was made after a successful trial run of the tabloid version.

Times editor Robert Thomson said: "The launch of the compact has transformed the fortunes of the newspaper."

Since publishing a broadsheet and tabloid version, sales of the paper have gone up by 4.5%.

Though the company says in parts of the UK where it has already phased out the broadsheet edition, the rise has been greater.

For 216 years, The Times has been published as a broadsheet - the larger format which has traditionally been favoured by 'upmarket' newspapers.

I live in a area surrounded by them, so i am speaking from my own experience.I see it ,hear it everyday,
We have our own sponges and scum, but if you have a household of 5 kids and a couple are unruly, and you are struggling to cope,then you don,t adopt any more do you?

Do you know that or are you just saying that to try and add some emotion to your argument?

You should be very proud of your great grandad, thankfully my great grandfathers came back from France although one died at a young age almost certainly linked to the damage a gas attack did to him, but I don't know whether you should claim to know his motivation and how he would view today's situation.

I certainly would not claim my great grandfathers would have refused to fight unless I knew that for a cast iron fact.
