Really not having a go, but is this really your take or tinted a bit by sour grapes.
If, say the Argies walk over the Germans 3-0 (and at 80 mins rest some stars), how very much poorer would that make todays English performance look.

Surely the "only beaten by the eventual winner/finalists" would be a happy situation?
