Mate, we were beaten by more than just todays performance. English football needs to take a long hard look at itself. Full respect to the Germans who always do their nation proud.

Correct - and we shouldn't have been playing them in the last 16. That's the embarassing bit (as well as some of the team selections and some of the players). Algeria was farrrrrrrr more embarassing.

What WAS embarassing was the the USA and Algeria games, the squad selection, the team selections, the incompetent manager and certain players (Heskey, Terry, Lampard, Rooney et al.)
Time to change the manager and "retire" a lot of the gutless players.

We didn,t get beat by Usa or Algeria even if they were poor. What was embarrassing was getting picked apart from very team we should have been well up for.Yes, we should have had a goal and you just never know how it could have swung it, but every time they went forward, they looked like scoring and don,t anyone tell me it was on the counter, as they were doing it at nil nil!
Totally gutted(not like a big Sunderland game i admit) more so with the hype surrounding these players. What exactly has Cappello given us that is worth the 6 million a year or whatever he is on? Cos tactically we were all over the shop! Fair play to the Germans as much as it pains me to say.
all them players can kiss my backside after that,no actually all 4 games.
people should not be played out of position at international level and people who are unfit, out of form should be dropped! Our tough talking experienced manager would surely not do that, DID HE FUCK! he went with the flow like the others beforehand.

True - it was an atrocious campaign. So much in fact, that I'm not too upset about today. We competed and lost, and that's more than I expected tbh.
Germany were devastating on the break, but otherwise poor. They'll get hammered off the Argies imo.

Again, the bold bits are the embarassment, not that game. Most of our poor, poorly selected and poorly played players did what they could and were unlucky, but nevertheless outplayed by better players in a better TEAM.

You can ignore the quality of the counterattacking to feel worse if you like, but the problem was that our players aren't very good and the team is shite (thanks to the manager). At least we had a go.

Re: Embarassing?
It was embarrassing how they walked around us with such ease and I can guarantee that Terry and co will be deeply embarrassed about the defending. Awful and not good but we've played worse like you say. Was to be expected anyway, any half decent side was always going to beat us.
