That was pretty much my take on it as well. We're becoming even more plastic and "£big event" than the Yanks.

This should be posted on every PL club website in England.

to be fair, in this case, it is probably just because, for the most part, these are the only people that can afford to go. We didnt seem to have too many plastics in 2006, but i looked at going to this world cup and it was a fair few thousand just for one game (admittedly i was looking at thomas cook sport which is probably an expensive way of doing it but yer knaa what i mean). Most simply cant afford to go this time, so we are left with a fairly plastic, JCL, middle class, dull brigade who are cringeworthy as fuck when interviewed

The only trouble will be at the big screens here in UK when England get knocked out.

Oh dear did all the yobo's and lager lots have to stay at home . What a shame Can't you be a true fan unless you get pissed at every game ?
I take it you are alluding to the genuine working class fan and not the yobbos that still blight football but you have to agree your post sounds like reverse snobbery .

To be honest, i just mean the normal lads that create atmosphere at games- often its lads in their 20's (early 30s) that, yes, might have a few beers, but want to go to games, stand (20 pages), and sing throughout the game/ before the game in pubs etc. Most groups of lads in their 20's can't afford to go, hence you get people who arent bothered about creating an atmosphere, and people traveling in small groups. Working class is probably the wrong term like, but you know what i mean

you got it right first time - no need for an explanation. England are creating a generation of plastic football fans to go with the plastic football clubs they support.

I'm very surprised we dont have a England fans Big Brother competition going on over there.
