    Staying at Shibuya.

If you are just staying in Tokyo and not travelling anywhere else i can recommend the following as decent activities:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nekobukuro

Nekobukuro (ねこぶくろ?), or "Cat's House", is part of the Ikebukuro Tokyu Hands store, located on the eighth floor. For the price of admission (¥1000 for an hour with the cats, as of April 12, 2010), customers can interact and play with the 20 or so cats running free around Nekobukuro at any given time.
Nekobukuro is a play on the Japanese word for cat, neko and the location Ikebukuro
Because many apartments will not allow pets, and some Tokyo residents feel their work schedule may not be compatible with the ownership of an animal, Nekobukuro is viewed as an alternative to pet ownership while still maintaining pet interaction.

It was bizarre but funny to see!!!!

    also ...

go to this bad boy, its really nice to relax , massage is good and the onsens are the nuts

    http://www.ooedoonsen.jp/

actually this link is in english

    http://www.ooedoonsen.jp/higaeri/english/index.html

and go for a beer here and be like Bill Murray!

Cheers, the cats sound typically Japanese and might be worth a laugh, I'll check your new onsen link 'cos the first one was unintelligible (though I did like the music ).

Staying at the Cerulean Tower on Shibuya Crossing (and right next to Tokyu Hands I think) which has a sky bar so that'll do the Lost in Translation bit near enough.

    Ta.

I'm only there for three nights but will certainly visit Roppongi, Kubichiko, Shinjuku - the onsen seems a good place to recover.

Did you do breakfast at the fish market? that's an option if we last all night on the beer.

Roppongi at night time is fucking hideous. If you have any taste in bars, clubs, nightlife you wouldnt go near the place. Or you could go and have a look for yourself and walk out after a beer (One will be enough).

WGM, you reckon Asiana is the way to go to get it a bit cheaper? Don't mind the changeover if it's going to save me a couple of hundred sheets.

I'm off to Tokyo for a week then off to meet a mate from uni in Mito for a week. Can't wait like.
