well, 1 its very hard and 2 agency have ruined the word "permanent".

When Thatcher came to power she created mass unemployment and subsequently to hide the real unemployment figures millions were put on invo. These people realised that they could live a reasonable life on benefits. Through learned behaviour the children of that generation follwed their parents example.

Thatcher did indeed help exacerbate the dependency culture as did poor town planning in the 50's/60's. That said Labour missed a huge trick in not trying hard enough to break the dependency culture. Their ideas were very peacemeal, tax incentives can only go so far and help those who want to be helped off benefits.
My worry though is that these incentives will vanish rather than breaking the eggs needed to make the omlette that will help the truly workshy.

Not from my experience mate same familys now have had four(4) yes four generations of lazy nackers on benefit. and I could name them all lazy twats, and everyone in my village nars them and would love the bassas named, not talking about workers who have suffered bad times through injury, talkin about 4 generations of no work and not paying into the pot
