I got a letter from Vince Cable and David Willetts this morning...

..basically saying that those of us who work in FE or HE won't have a pot to piss in for the next few years. That was expected, but what struck me was Vince Cable's signature.

I know mate I work in FE and 86 people have been made redundant since the new goverment game in. I know Labour were not great, however it is not just education that is getting hit, like in terms of teaching etc. They have also put a stop on the education building fund, so new colleges and schools can not be built. I know this as my mate is very high up within Ryder on Newcastle Quayside. Shame really is. I think the only people who have benefited from the new goverment is the Police, no suprise there then, especially under the Tories.

Cable has had a really easy ride from the political commentators up until now. Many never noticed that he was initially against the Northern Rock bali-out but then changed his mnd and backed Darling against the Tories. Now we hear that he isn't "entirely comfortable" with how the coalition is playing out and what he is being expected to do. Well, he didn't have to take the job, did he?

Our company has been given the go ahead in the last two weeks to undertake the building of two new schools like, not that I am defending the Tory fuck sticks or the Liberal hanger ons
