I'm lucky I'm not superstitious like

Whats your superstitions or any you know of from people that are superstitious?

If there is such a thing as luck and lack of it, I was unlucky to forget to put my pound on the lottery one time and the syndicate I was always in won. I missed out on 4 grand, skint student at the time too

It could be? If I was superstitious of say, walking under ladders, and I avoided walking under a ladder, but by taking a detour I got hit by a bus, then that was fate, I was due to be hit by a bus.

But fatalism is about believing that there's only 1 possible chain of events in the universe - only 1 possible history and 1 possible future - all governed by cause and effect, and that we have no free will with which to break this causality.

To a fatalist, when they see a ladder, they know that whether they "choose" to walk under the ladder or not, the choice they make is not a choice at all but the only possible outcome to the situation, and that any events that follow, "seemingly lucky", "seemingly unlucky" or "seemingly unremarkable" are merely part of the universal causality which are going to happen anyway whether you actually walk under the ladder or not.

And in fact, whether you do walk under the ladder or not, that in itself is "future history", predetermined, and in no way influenced by us (because our actions aren't actions at all, they're REactions to other processes that began before we were even born).
