Default Got my EOS 3 back from long term loan...

...after almost 2 years, and I'd forgotten what a fantastic camera it is.

Happily I had a couple of rolls of Ilford XP2 in the fridge so I shot some stuff last night.

45 point AF with Eye Control FFS! Why can't they do that on my 50D?

I really can't understand why Canon did away with it, was a superb idea and the implementation was pretty good, could have been honed to perfection by now.

I had it on another Canon too, To calibrate it will illuminate a number of AF points whilst you hold the camera horizontally, then vertically, you look at each in turn and click.

Then whenever you look through the viewfinder the camera can determine which part of the scene your eye is looking at.

    Fantastic stuff.

I read that they couldn't make it work with digtal sensors, but don't know why.

And it's accurate? Sounds pretty clever. I assume you can switch it off too?

It seems to work, and yes, you can switch it off.

I'll probably rarely use it TBH, I hardly did in the past, but it's like a new toy now I've got my camera back.
