Default Highways Agency seeks £40m central IT system

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/05...ays_agency_it/

WTF do they need that for? and as with all government IT projects, it'll cost over double the cost and easily exceed the allocated time frame.

Surely Davie and his chumps need to bin this idea and get the 40m in the debt coffers?

Bollox, I didn't mean to post the link in the title, don't support mods can change this can they, change it to ...

'Highways Agency seeks £40m central IT system'

Bloody bluetooth keyboard, sometimes you have to copy and paste twice for it to work.

Was hearing the government want to create a centralised CCTV system to join up all public area CCTV as well.

    Money Money Money.

Actually, we just delivered a £30m contract to the government on time and under-budget.

Are you sure? Has it ever been known to happen before?

It was. And it was delivered fully working ahead of schedule (or under budget, it was one or the other, I forget which).

In fairness, the overall project was about 3 years late, but that's because the government dept. ran out of money and had to mothball the project - althuogh that that time, we were about 10 months behind schedule!
