Default Recommend me a good laptop

I want it mainly for internet use (I assume I can use my wireless broadband on my PC to access internet anywhere in my house on my laptop?), a decent one for gaming (mainly just FM10), and for my coursework as I'm about to start a diploma.

I don't particularly like using the big chain stores like PC World, so if anyone can recommend something better online, I'd be very grateful. When I got my PC, I had it custom built at PC Specialist, and it was/is the dogs bollocks.

Depends really, do you want one thats cheap, one thats bomb proof or one that looks pretty?

Every IT department I've worked in, I've always supplied Dell laptops to staff and I have to say, they're spot on, especially the latitude series. Bomb proof and live to tell the tale even after the roughest of sales people has spent 4 years throwing it in and out of their car boot. Also very easy to upgrade memory, HDD's etc

If you want one that looks pretty then get a Vaio, the new i3 ones are particularly nice.

Have a look on ebuyer.com for good deals.

Reading between the lines he wants it mainly for pursuing his "alternative" or "adult" interest research on line. He has a desktop for games and work surely, but it is difficult to drag that into the bedroom / toilet to fully appreciate his other interests.

I don't really know what I want as regards to specs, models etc, as I don't really know about that sort of thing, that's where the clued up people such as yourself come in.

Not at all, I want it for being able to use the internet whilst working on my presentations and work from home.

Also for gaming, but mainly FM10 as stated above.
