Default What are the biggest plusses you are taking from this season?

This is what I've been particularly chuffed with, in order:

    1. The goals of Darren Bent - It's been a while since we've had a striker that every single defence in the division shits its collective pants over.

    2. The form of Craig Gordon - Along with Bent, he's made the biggest contribution to the season. Starting to live up to that price tag with some real quality goalkeeping; and still room for bags more improvement next year.

    3. The emergence of youth. Henderson and Meyler have been a breath of fresh air. Hats off to Bruce for being a manager who spots potential and isn't shy to back his judgment by playing them.

I'll leave Hutton out because he came in late, but his is a crucial signing in the summer. Hope it gets done straight away.

Our fantastic away support despite the shite that is served up

A manager that knows shite when he See's it and is quick to get rid whether it be sold or loaned out

    Agree with all yours btw

I'd also highlight the way we played at Old Trafford (for the first time in God knows how long we actually went there and played, not sat back and feared the inevitable), the performances of John Mensah (when he's been fit. He was class against Tevez at our place,) and the recent displays at home. First half in particular, where we've come flying out of the blocks.

These, aswell as the first two posts, have been my plusses of this season.

    1. Getting points against the 'Big 4'

    2. Some of the passing football we have played at times

    3. Darren Bent

    4. Jordan Henderson

    5. Craig Gordon

    6. 14 game winless streak.

have you been away? its fucking shit!

big plus for me is the atmosphere at the sol. although its not a 'cauldron', its starting to get a little bit better. the old chicken and egg situation (we play better = atmos improves = we play better = atmos improves). hopefully this will carry on into next season

another big plus is only really been turned over once (chelsea away) and maybes liverpool away (we were shite). how many times have we let in more than 2 in a game? not more than 3 or 4 times off the top of me head

steve bruce dropping one of his new signings (cana) for a youth who was already here. other managers would have been too stuborn and stuck with cana because they brought him to the club

The fact that we've turned the SSOL into a fortress, no other clubs will look forward to playing here.

Despite a 14 game winless streak it seems to me there is great positivity around the club, a sense of self belief and a team ethic all of which have been sadly lacking for years.

we will always have numbers IMO.

buts quality not quantity. the players would rather have 1000 chanting there names all game, with 2000 empty seats, than 3000 sitting in silence. but thats getting away from the thread

our home form is excellent too
