Glasweigan Delusion?
Having bought this week's 'Celtic View', ostensibly to see their take upon their cataclysmic humiliation at the hands of Ross County, my eye was taken by their perception of English football from a club official. It says: -
"No English teams in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in seven years is some sort of national disaster south of the border, according to the media in that part of the world. Whether it is or isn't is not my concern.
However, I wonder if it is indicative of the quality of the football that is played these days. And I also wonder if dwindling attendances in the EPL is also another portent that the product is under par.
The league in England needs a shake-up. It needs new blood. It needs a team with worldwide appeal, a huge fanbase, 50,000 season ticket holders, the best travelling fans anywhere on the planet. It needs Celtic. And I'm sure, if they asked us nicely, we'd think about it."
I do hope it was very much tongue-in-cheek, or ironic, otherwise I disagree on every single aspect of this and would suggest they look up the word 'delusion' in the dictionary.

Thought he was a mag for a minute.
Anyway, why the hell would the English game need Celtic and/or Rangers? No precedent for inviting foreign teams to join our league, no reason for it, nothing to gain from it. It's the old firm who need it, not English football.

Page 70 of this week's Celtic View. I'd only just stopped laughing at their Ross County match report ("the Hoops poured forward" ...). I only wish I was that witty!

I agree with the guy in Celtic view. Throw the Gers into the equation for good measure too.bite
