the point is a nice hotel :)
theres one on princess street ( great british hotel or something ) awesome location and canny nice inside
we got it pretty cheap so might be worth looking at

The Apex Waterloo is great......just off Princess Street and the station.
I go to Edinburgh a lot and for the right blend of location, comfort and cost I wouldn't recommend anywhere else.

The Balmoral is superb, as is The Scotsman and for something slightly cheaper I would also recommend The Carlton which has great rooms and views.
