    Default Capello - Lucky Manager?

Has Capello had a blessing in disguise with a large majority of our key players having had a semi serious injury at some point in the season, meaning they wont have played their usual quota of 60 odd games resulting in them being tired for a major tournament

    Ashley Cole
    Rio Ferdinand
    Steven Gerrard
    Theo Walcott
    Aaron Lennon
    Emille Heskey
    Carlton Cole
    Glen Johnson

now Rooney may miss a few games

Would be luckier if the ones in bold were injured permanently.

Even though I am not an England fan I cannot agree with that.

Capello won multiple trophies wherever he is managed.

Undeniably he has an excellent record at club level. However, astute followers of the game are perfectly justified in finding his obssession with starting Emile Heskey as baffling.

I cannot see how getting injured, playing fewer games and having less match practice in the lead up to a final tournament, could ever be considered "lucky".
