Re: Henry Winter
He might or might not not be "England Class". But what does that mean? If it means being one of the best strikers in England then he clearly passes the test. He is not ,as some say, "easy on the eye" ,full of neat touches and silky skills. But neither were Lineker, Schillachi, Muller, Inzhagi etc, and while not elevating him to that standard , what he has got is hard to find.
What Benty doesn't do I suppose is make chances for himself very often, but only the very best do this as well as score regularly, and only Rooney really does it for England.
Cappello seems to want two out of Cole , Heskey, and Crouch as back to goal men and two others one being Rooney. So Bent is vying with Defoe and Agbonolohar, for the other spot, and he'll miss out I think if they are fit.
All fair enough, but saying that he isn't "England class" is the sort of easy cliche that the pretentious, self regarding Winter too often resorts to.
