just my luck, thru a mate I finally found someone who could supply a chipped Virgin media box only to discover Nagra 3 is due for rollout in my area next month

It's been on the cards for a while, Ireland switched over in August. The whole of the UK is meant to be switched over by the end of April. Card sharing is the way forward.

I know people in Washington that have been having problems the last week or so. Channels missing etc. probably just testing at the moment but it's coming soon.

Wish I could remember the names of the gobshites that were posting as to how Virgin would NEVER switch to a better encryption, they would lose too much money etc etc etc when I warned about this a long time ago.

I never thought i'd see Virgin switch over but I suppose that they feel that people will upgrade to full subscriptions once N3 hits (I doubt it!)

Still no new viewing card here. Anyone else received theirs yet? As I understand it once the cards arrive the switchover is imminent!

the thing that I find baffling is those that are reluctant to pay for virgin media after the boxes dont work and swtich to sky.

Sky TV offers much better value for money, Virgin cannot compete with their TV prices. Ultimately everything will be broacast over the net so your broadband connection will rule your decision.

Mine went off last night and I lost all the channels. Turned it off for half an hour then retuned and appears to have got all the channels back -except SSN funnily. I notice some name changes on certain channels.

So will a N3 chipped box be possible?
