I've only had my camera a month and a half. Only got the site because I'm a web developer and built it myself.

There'll be people out there with more expertise on this than me.

I've got a cheap 'minipod' from Jessops, just for tabletop use.

    A Joby Gorillapod -

    And a cheap Giottos tripod.

Get the sturdiest you can afford, there's no point having a tripod if it wobbles in the breeze.

The problem is people want a light, sturdy, cheap tripod - out of those 3 attributes you can only have two.

    Light, strong = expensive
    Light, cheap = weak
    Sturdy, cheap = heavy

In other words you get what you pay for.

People seem to recommend Manfrottos tripods and recently I've been hearing redsnapper mentioned a lot too.

    For a site?

Not sure yet - needs testing so you might be lucky enough to get it for free when it's ready.

Your hosting would need php and mysql enabled though.
