    Default Film streaming to PS3

    Is this possible?

I have downloaded a few films and would like to watch them through the PS3.

I can stream music no problem but the video streaming doesnt seem to work.

    Any advice?

    cheers

Either download tversity and this will do it, or use WMP 11, both a piece of piss to set up.

    Instructions for WMP 11 here

    Quote:
using Windows Media Player 11 as the server

    Open Windows Media Player 11
From the toolbar, select Library then Media Sharing
    Check "Share my media"
On the PS3 - Under Video, Photos or Music, select "Scan for media server"
Go back to the PC, and you should see a pop up showing an unknown device trying to connect.
Allow the device, and everything should work.

It plays avi's and xvid's, whixh should cover 95% of the stuff you download, well it does for me.

Just have a bit play around with it, make sure you direct the ps3 to the correct place on your pc/laptop wherever the downloaded content is.

Don't bother with tversity its outdated now, go grab Ps3media server it plays alot more file types including mkv and has rar support.

Instead of streaming the film you could just put it on a usb stck and plug that into your ps3. Or burn a load of films onto a dvd (as files, don't bother converting them to proper dvds) and watch it in your ps3 like a normal dvd. That's what I do as my laptop is a bit shit and streaming films stutter really badly.
