The ref last saturday
F****ing diabolical, chalked off a perfectly good goal for Anton then allowed Crouch to climb all over Turner and head in theirs. Its about time Refs were interviewed after games and explained their decision making - may be then they will stop making such terrible decisions. Fortunately the refs incompetence did not cost us, TV replays or a third umpires for me, this can’t go on and seems to be getting worse.

Re: The ref last saturday
Just read a Spurs review on the game on Vitalfootball and this is the first paragraph...

I'm furious. Not just because we lost to Sunderland, not just because the ref was doing everything in his power to keep us from getting anything out of the game and not just because we were awful.

You have got to be kidding . If it wasn't for the ref, they may also have had two red cards and lost 4-0 .

Re: The ref last saturday
That's the problem - they are very rarely held responsible for their mistakes and should be asked why they gave certain decisions. There are times when the ref cannot see an incident because of bodies in the way, that's why we have linesmen (God help us!) to "assist" him to make proper decisions. When are they ever consulted? Fair enough, there are going to be times when some things slip their notice, that's football, but incidents like the Crouch "goal", especially given his height are obvious to everyone in the ground except the officials. Another one that springs to mind was Andy Cole's handball when Manure scored against us, it was SO obvious and of course their was the Liverpool penalty when McAllister dived into the box from about five yards out. These are the type of decisions that should be explained to the fans post-match.

The linesmen on Saturday didn't flag for a single penalty, which I found a little bizarre as it was clear why each one was given.

Re: The ref last saturday
I really dont get this
We see a great end to end game, with open attacking play, goals, great goalkeeping including saved penalties, controversial decions and the goal of the season. A great spectacle, value for money and an advert for football and people moan about the ref.
Both very sad and pathetic

He had a bit of a stinker though mate, crouch was all over turner i have seen those chalked off so many times over the years watching quinny etc get done for the same thing. Also how cambell got done for having the balls to go for the ball with the keeper then the keeper fall all over him he wouldnt have made it up for the shot anyway even if cambell wasnt there.

And if they had got something out of the game you would have said the same. Are you suggesting that just because we won and saw a great game, we shouldn't complain? Isn't that just a bit hypocritical? Shall we just moan when we are shite and lose
