techy help

I have an oldish laptop that is un-usable. I went to try and re-format it but cant find any of the windows disc's etc that came with that laptop. I have a few windows disc's from other laptops will I be able to use them to re-format the said broken laptop or will it not have any of the drivers etc for the hardware???

just a bit off the subject here , why the fook am i typing in text lingo (1st) im so used to texting now , sometimes when im writing with a pen i have to stop & think what im putting down ffs, happen to anyone else ??

The drivers etc will pick up partly from windows and the rest you can download when you get it online (as long as you can get online, everything is available).

The difficulty is getting a Windows disk that isn't locked to a brand - i.e. Dell, HP, Acer etc.
