Can't beat being away at Christmas.
I went years ago with the lads before I settled down.
Would rather be away than have all the hassle and shit telly

Try the Riu Fumana and Garupa (?) on Sal in the Cape Verde Islands. Five hour flight, no time difference, beautiful beach, guaranteed hot weather with a comforting breeze off the Sahara and lovely people. Just watch for the Senegalese traders that had invaded the place to try and put the locals out of business
