I think the last time I exchanged money it was something like 1.034

soem shocking rates earlier in the year. I've never had less than 1.10 mind. just stay away from airport change places.. at one point I think travelex were giving less than 1 for 1..

Hotel I'm staying in in Austria knocks 2% off for cash so I'll be driving with a big bundle fo cash.. all helps..

I usually change a small quantity there, just for the chitty with the rate printed on it, then base all my expenses claim at that rate, kerching.

I want it back to 1.60 euros to the pound. Cost me a fortune going to ireland at the minute.

I often wonder if Britain had joined the Euro how much the financial institutions would have lost over the years by not getting commission on the currency changes. And was this the real reason why we have never joined it.
