Default Black music is dying a death....

    Piss poor at the moment....

Any of these songs from decades gone are far superior to what is being turned out now.

1971.....Sly and the Family Stone.......It's a Family Affair.

1978......Funkadelic..... .....................One Nation Under a Groove.

    1983......Grandmaster Melle Mel...........White Lines.

    1989.......Public Enemy.................... ...Fight the Power.

Just about anything by Earth Wind and Fire

Large chunks of Cameo and Zapp

James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield

    Some Prince

Can't be arsed with the vast majority of what comes out these days.

To be fair though, you have picked some of the greatest/most influential songs of the 70s and 80s there. Mind, I'm struggling to think of much in the last five years I'd put up as a counter-argument, but that might be my lack of knowledge.

(Sly Stone's vocal on Family Affair just knocks me out, every time.)

It is not limited to black music..... White music is dying a slow and painful death also.

    tis a real thing, yo.

I dont think black music is dying, I just think white folks are getting better at making it.

Anyway, I like punk, so have no place here.

You're right like. It's difficult to believe that this was recorded 10 years ago now. We live in bleak times.

I'll add Micheal Kiwanuka to this list.

Their are some great black artists out there but is this day and age of commercilised souless dance shite that saturates the market and airwaves, many don't get to hear there music. Thank God for the internet that allows us to find these lesser known artists that radio, TV and most media now neglect these days.
