Steve Bruce or SAFC should come out and explain to the fans what he meant when he said "we are only Sunderland" "We shouldnt get above our station"
Does he not feel the passion when we sing "we are Sunderland, we are Sunderland" Does he miss that. Does he not know that the thing that fills a Sunderland fans heart with pride the most is the fact they are part of such a wonderful set of fans. Fans who have had only one major win to shout and sing about in 71 years, most fans lifespan.

As pointed out on a national tv programmes over the weekend would he have made these comments at his job interview. If asked at that said interview, how far can you realsitically move Sunderland forward Steve, did he reply "we are only Sunderland" "We shouldnt get above our station" I doubt it.

Even he said after he was appointed into the job as our Manager and asked about his previous ties to Newcastle

Results on the pitch Steve, your right, they do matter but also may i add passion and pride too, or am i getting above my station, If so i apologise

No, because it is easy enough to understand. He should just shut his trap and concentrate on producing results to prove doubters wrong.

Just google Sunderland appoint Bruce as Manager, all the quotes are there. The tv programme referred to was Sunday Supplement. I appreciate there are a lot of threads of the same theme, it goes to show how inflamed our fans currently are with our manager and his comments to justify why he should still be in charge of our club

But no one is demanding anything as a f*ckin right. The man is totally misunderstanding, or intentionally misrepresenting the situation, and doesn't even seem to think there is a problem. His comments about playing well in every game bar one beggar belief. We have produced odd 15 mins here or there but it has been total dross on the whole.

Because

a. he has said what he has said, and it wasnt hard to understand.

b. Even if he did, he'd only put his foot in it, or contradict himself anyway, because he appears to be dealing with the pressure he is under via a panicky form of self-preservation with the media, where he just says the first thing that comes into his mind that gets him off the hook.

c. The majority of SAFC fans are so alienated by him that whatever he says will just make things worse.

d. All that matters is results.
