    Default Soldered joints

Need to cap off a 15mm copper pipe and there isnt enough room for a compression joint. Is it as simple as cleaning up then putting the soldered end cap on and heating with a propane torch? Will I need to use flux? How do I know when the solder has melted?

Yes you will need flux. Clean the pipe with wire wool to get it nice and clean and file down so no sharp edges. You will probably need a heat mat if there isnt enough room for a compression joint

Bugger me never knew those things existed. Read the reviews on them and everyone says theyre great but maybe long term, my job is to cap off the former hot pipe to the washer as its not needed these days - will it take hot water system pressure? Strangely enough I only learned where our local Screwfix is in Leicester just recently.

People put whole systems in with them, industrial too.
They are as good as any other type of joint and a easy to fit.
