Default Buying meat in bulk, Sunderland area?

Looking to cut a few costs, and I'm looking to do one massive shop after pay day which will hopefully keep me out the shops for the rest of the month. I'm looking to buy a load of meat and freeze this to use over the month, anyone recomend a decent place in sunderland area?

Also, fruit and veg, is buying from a proper fruiters rather than a supermarket be cheaper, and is it likely to last longer, hoping to shop for this once a week, and not at a supermarket.

How do the prices compare to supermarkets? Much cheaper? If cheaper at all?

Is this place still a members shop? I used to be a member of Costco, but the meat quality wasn't great.

Why not buy pig, sheep or cow, keep it tethered in the back garden and just lop a bit off as and when the fancy takes you....nowt fresher than that mate!

Alternatively, try Haswells at Silky or the farm shop they have just off the 690 and get them to knock up a meat box for you. They'll tailor it to your budget and likes I would imagine.

I've always used Gordons at Boldon to do that same thing but my old man got the Turkey and Xmas meat from Haswell's farm shop and was spot on so gonna give it a whirl for sure.....
