Default An 18 hour day, a 720 mile trip...

...and a game ruined by two officials who wouldn't look out of place in a pub league.

I cant be arsed to read through all the threads on the game yesterday, but IMHO we were VERY much in the game until the 'penalty'.

    We were.
Shame we couldn't respond to being a goal down though.

That's offensive to pub league officials.

It actually is. Pub officials don't have the luxury of playing the game on bowling greens, a dressing room to hide in at half time and a fourth official.

To be fair, Liverpool just shut up shop and let us play infront of their lines - they were very orgainsed and difficult to break down. Something they were ONLY able to do after going a goal up.

Our injuries didn't help either mind, we lost all our shape when Steed came on.

Yes Liverpool look very well organised. Dalglish has certainly improved them.

But the lack of spark and movement in our team was appalling.

And that's what has me worried.

I really hope that Sess will begin to provide that.

You're right tho, despite all the decent possession football in the middle of the park, we're crying out for someone who can make things happen in the final third.

Mind, i thought Welbeck was causing them problems when he was wide, but (as mentioned above) we lost all our shape when Steed came on.

We're also in need of two fullbacks who are capable of arriving late into our play and putting in a decent ball.
