    Default Embarassing?

I don't get why people think the Germany game was embarassing. We were a crossbar and a truly awful blown call from leading 3-2. We had to press up and were caught on the break by a very good and very quick German side. It was never a 4-1 game.

What WAS embarassing was the the USA and Algeria games, the squad selection, the team selections, the incompetent manager and certain players (Heskey, Terry, Lampard, Rooney et al.)

Time to change the manager and "retire" a lot of the gutless players.

You've answered your own question there mate. New FA structure, England manager, and young players required. Apply to The FA

get real ... England were lucky not to concede 6 or 7 and were totally outplayed for large parts of the game

You're right, but it wasn't and if the second goal had been given then (you'd hope anyway) we wouldn't've been pushing so many men forward at the time of the 3rd and 4th.

At the same time 4-1 is a flattering scoreline for England.

what was embarrassing was the fact everyone was going on about how average the german team was and that it was one for the future and they took the piss out of our bunch of plodders.

also heskey on for defoe when needing to score goals

It wasn't but our defending was we looked ok going forward but tbf the Germans didn't look too comfortable at the back

We hit the bar twice, scored a goal that wasn't given, penalty shout went unnoticed in 1st half and their defence and keeper were in a panic for a while before they got the 3rd

The scoreline flattered us in the first half, and flattered them in the second.

We were beaten by a bit of bad luck, and by a better team.
