iOS 4.2.1

Anyone who relies on a jailbreak best wait before updating to 4.2.1, the current JB methods aren't very stable and are tethered (you have to boot device using a computer if u power off!)

Shouldn't be too long before the untethered goodness is here

(PS. Older phones and ipods you can untether JB already...)

I'm getting the kids an ipad in the US at xmas, so I assume will come with this latest software? was gonna jailbreak it straight away for them

You may get lucky and it will come with 3.2 - depends if its brand new stock or its out of their current stock.

Even if it comes with 4.2 by xmas mate there will deffo be a proper fully untethered jailbreak out I would assume.

Worst case, it's tethered and you have to plug into a computer if you switch it off, just keep it powered on - they last for ages.

We are on a bit of a tour of the US so am getting it for them at start of holiday to keep them entertained as we travel about. I'll get a car charger as well to keep it powered.

They'll love it, just fill it up with games and apps keep them quiet for hours!

Is there any essential accessories I need?

I can get the 16gb wifi only for $499 or $599 for 32 gb the 16gb with 3G is $629

The 3G one may come in handy to be honest for when there is no wifi available, I would say the 16GB ismore than enough.

Essential accessories, I would get a case to stop any scratches and the camera kit, very handy for pluggins phone/camera in to put pictures straight onto ipad. Also once jailbroken you can use this to access extra storage (usb sticks and sd cards)
