    Default Lean Mass Advice

Im hearing conflicting issues online over this, some say you need a peroid of bulking whereas some say just lifting heavy weights will get you definition.

Im going to be at my weight to start training again in 2 weeks and just need some advice on my next step.

Will a protein intake of around 130g minimum a day at around 2500 calories be enough to get the toned look? dont want to ruin all my hard work so very wary of bulking.

Could do with 'upping that protein'. What's your lifting experience mate?

Nowt major as you can tell im not the biggest despite my height, always struggled to build mass, hence the new approach.

I was benching around 30kg and doing rows of around 25kgs. Squats are where I seem to be able to lift a lot as ive got quite strong legs from playing football as a young un.

I could lift heavier but was always told to do more reps than weights, think this may have to change.

A 'toned' look is about muscle mass and the amount of bodyfat you have. Going by what you've said, I'd imagine it would be fair to say that you don't have a large amount of muscle mass, so I would advise you to 'bulk'. You shouldn't worry bulking, just gradually up the calories, you aren't going to wake up looking like a prime Ronnie Coleman and you aren't going to wake up looking obese either, just monitor your macros (over the course of a day it is a sub-5 minute task) and monitor your weight and how you look in the mirror.

Just done a bit reading and my macros arent far off what they should be

I think slow bulk will be easy to pull of with x2 protein shakes and a little more food a day.

At the moment im off the protein, still looking for a good deal which isnt going to cost the earth. Havent really missed the days of paying 40 quid every two weeks
