Default Can you fly to Great Yarmouth from the North East ?

Just wondering as there appears to be an airport there but the internet is not giving me any details of where the planes entering or leaving it are actually travelling from / to

Me and Howden Mackem have been invited to display our talents on the national stage Would be canny if it coincided with Norwich away

It's only a heliport for the gas rigs.

Won this pool team competition (local league thing), invited to the nationals so we are going to give it a blast but getting to such a far off place with nobody interested in driving could prove problematic and costly

Fortunately though, our prize money this season came in at £450 so instead of being pissed up the wall in Durham this is going towards travel / digs etc.

Wonder what this Yarmouth airport is then, probably some tin shed used to do little day trips or something then

As mentioned above, it's only a heliport with an unpaved runway. Fixed wing operations are not permitted. You'll have to fly to Norwich.

    Edit: Aye.

Our head office is at Greater Yarmouth i'll make some enquiries and see if anyones going down that neck of the wood anytime soon. The I.T. technician flies his own plane from Yarmouth to Newcastle now and then but don't know what airport his planes based at.

Spent 3 months in Norfolk back in the 80s, it's an arse of a place to get to and fro.

try the train mate, my daughter lives in Norwich and we go down, admittedly from Leeds, fairly regularly and it is an easy journey

Change trains at Peterboro for Norwich connection, there is a train every hour from there and its 90 mins from p'boro to norwich

cost with senior rail card is usually £15 or £19 return and it shopuld not be a lot differant from the North East
