Gordon is far more likely to depart than Ferdinand as the arrival of Keiren Westwood has given Bruce a wealth of goalkeeping options.

We have 3 capable keepers (two of which relatively unproven), same as many teams...hardly a wealth of options.

Of those Sunderland are looking to offload, the club are yet to receive any serious interest in Nosworthy or Kilgallon.

Am I the only one who wonders why it is managers appear to be bothering less and less with renewing contracts and are preferring more and more to sell them as soon as the contracts are up?

Am I the one who thinks it is best nowadays to draw up a contract and base the tenure on how long the manager wants the player to stay for before he loses interests?
