SWP over Adam Johnson

Early days I know but I said this was a bad decision at the time. He has no end product and has given the ball away nearly everytime he has had it.
Heskey however has done a good job so far.

All SWP has done all night is get the ball and run blindly into the nearest defender.
Johnson would have been a much better player to take, all that SWP has over him is speed but it doesn't do him any good because he doesn't know what to do when he reaches the defender.

I think SWP over Joe Cole tonight was a far more baffling decision.

And I'm not saying AJ is a worse player than SWP, but he has only had about half a dozen decent games at the top level this season.

I would have brought Cole on. We got nothing out of either winger.

It sounds like Cole was ill for a couple of days, hence being left out.

When you sub Milner after 30 mins then have to sub a crocked defender at half time it seriously limits what you can do to change the game with subs later in the game.

I agree re Cole but as LM says he was ill for a couple of days so was a gamble.

In regards to Johnson only playing half a season in the Prem I think it's fair to say he is very talented and could (I believe would) have been a revelation if he was picked. At the very least he has been keeping SWP out of the Man City starting line up since his arrival so hopefully would have provided more.
