    Default Golf Lessons

Im at the stage where I can hack round a course and was wondering if the SMB golfers could advise whether I am better off pushing on and just trying to improve with practice or whether I should supplement it with some lessons? Would it be money well spent or are you better waiting?
    Any recommended local instructors? Ta.

Lessons are a must! I used to teach, getting the basics right when you first learn makes it so much easier in the long run. Any course local to you should have a pro that will give lessons.

Lessons should assist swifter progress, there have been similar threads and a search should give some recommendations regarding local teaching pro's.

Yep, get lessons asap. It's so easy to pick up bad habits, and any local pro will put you on the right track, but make sure you practise plenty what they tell you. Expect to pay about £15-£20 per 1/2 hour lesson. Better to get a block booking of buy 5 get 1 free type of thing.

I can personally recommend Steve at the Sunderland Driving Range and also Warren at Heworth Golf Club.

The earlier you get lessons the better imo, gets you doing it right from the off. I have never had lessons and have been shit for 25 years. Wish I had lessons from the off.

I agree like, think you can either do it or you cant, but lessons certainly give you the best chance. I know people who have had loads of lessons and cant hit it 100yrds cos there is no natural ability.

BTW you are not welcome at next years SMB Masters if off low single figures. Only shit players like me can enter so I can retain the trophy
