Laptop hardrives advice?

Can you just get another manufacters and stick it in the laptop. The young un has a Toshiba laptop with an internal 2.5" SATA HD, and its gone on the fritz.

Would any 2.5" SATA internal drive work, is it as easy as swaping.

Ive replaced PC components before, but never laptops.

The operating system on the donor drive might not work because it was set up on a different machine. If you are formatting & reloading windows though - this wont be a problem.

Aye, thats what ill be doing. Ill wipe any drive i get first (and reinstall) or get a new drive
