    Does anyone watch them?

I see they're top of the Premier League and have a striker called Beth Mead who's scoring for fun this season.

I didn't think they were included in the Premier league even though they won everything the year prior to the league being set up.

They're in the National Premier League, but were omitted from the Super League.

By her goal scoring record, and considering that she is only 16, I reckon she could probably turn proffessional.

The elite division is the Womens Super League, the Premier League is the next level down although there is no promotion or relegation.

Sunderland finished 5th or 6th the season before the WSL was started but didn't get picked to play in it when it did.

Pretty much. The premier league is actually the league below the FA WSL (Women's Super League) strangely enough. All the teams in the WSL are guaranteed their places for two seasons at the moment as well.

I believe the Super League happening this year is the last one where there is no relegation fears. Pretty sure if Sunderland women win the league next year they would get promoted.

I take an interest in the womens game, been to a few matches but not for a while. Did go to the Womens FA Cup Final in 2009, wher Arsenal beat Sunderland 2-1. My work colleague at the time got on the pitch and hit the bar. She's gotten around a bit, leaving to play for Sheff Wed when she started at Leeds Uni. Then decided to play for Sunderland again, before playing for Man City then finally ending up in the Leeds team this season.

If a second tier is introduced then there will be relegation and promotion I assume.
