    Default Converting VHS to DVD

It's time my Sunlun tapes 1988-94 were given the digital treatment but the high street shops in Newcastle are charging about £45 per cassette.

Anyone got any experience of doing this in a way that doesn't bankrupt you???

Buy one of those vcr/dvd combi's, if you've got alot of tapes you'll save alot in the long run

Yes, recently. £8 for an Easycap video capture card (from ebay, comes with software), then it depends on what sort of connections your video recorder/player has. If it has AV out (red/white/yellow) you just need a set of male to male AV cables to connect it and off you go. I'm fairly sure the software is not compatible with 64 bit operating systems though, so be aware.

Cheers mate although that's a bit technical for me. An option anyway.

i got one of these from comet

    http://www.ionaudio.com/products/details/vcr-2-pc

more pricer than conecting old vcr to dvd recorder but old vcr was chewing tapes and converting all old home movies & safc stuff is priceless (stuff from 20 year ago & wedding/holiday vids)

nice to know what the pro's charge, muggins here did a wedding video with titles & there favorite music mixed in (video mixer) for a bloomin crate of cheap lager, christ they where queing round the block after vhs's to convert WITH TITLEs, told em to sod of as exercise was more important & try upping the price. lost a mate as HE had said I would do someone a wedding vid but I said £200 instead of crate of beer, so bride wasn't happy

    06:59 PM..
