    Default The Biggest Shame

We could have to wait ages to play Villa, I can't wait to see Bent cower in the face of hell from our fans up here.

Moneygrabbing Judas, this is a chance for the club to replace him with better and push on. I hope this time next year he looks like a massive fool (a rich one still, granted).

No one is bigger than this club, and if there ever was, it wouldn't be some greedy cockney boy with an obsession with a sad internet site and trainers.

    Haway the lads

    In Quinn we trust.

It is a fantastic deal financially for the club, he's worth about £15m tops and thats only if he's in form, as we have seen that if not his overall game offers very little.

I hope villa go down, then wonder if he ll still be slapping the villa badge when he scores! The ironic thing the thick twat does nt seem to get when he mentions Downing and Young in all likely hood will be sold to pay for him!

I must be in the minority of one and think he did the right thing.

The club were also right to refuse him the money. He came here on a low, his stock rose dramatically because he got loads of goals and now Villa are daft enough to spend a fortune for his services and we get £24m.

Both the club and Bent have won in this deal. I think (and hope) Villa will regret it, as it is economic madness.

I would say he probably did the right thing had he not banged on about how much he loved SAFC and the area so often. We, as fans should probably know not to trust any modern day footballer but when you do hear someone talk like Bent did, you do feel he would have a duty of loyalty to the club. Unfortunately he's just like the rest and that is the biggest disapointment for the fans.

Thing is he probably did love it. It would have been different and he was the Big Man as opposed to Spurs reserve.

However, he would have known (via his agent) how much he was worth and that would have went up dramatically last season.

Footballers are in it for the money and will equate success to how much they are getting paid. If we refuse a pay rise (sensibly) then he will look elsewhere and Villa are daft enough to spend a fortune so he goes there.

He's just one in a long line of mercenaries that are Premier League footballers.

I have never idolised a footballer since I was about 10. They are all employees of the club until they get another job.

he did go over the top about the club, the area, the fans etc but at the time he probably meant it. Just money talks a lot louder than hugs n kisses and adulation

    spot on !!

In all honesty , who on here would turn down the chance to double their income .
If Bent had come out and said " I couldn't turn down the money " I would of been pissed off but fair enough . however all this shit about moving to a big club with a massive history etc , is simply bullshit !!

    They ALL do it

Bent was just a bit more over the top than most

Hopefully, it's a lesson for the more naive supporter
