    Default Question

If you're a top Exec, how many emails and other important documents can you delete from your company records in 48 hours? Just wondering like

My ex-company used a network management product where you couldn't delete an email, even sys admin. You could delete it from your inbox but there was always a copy stored on the servers.

    Not many people knew that.

It might even be the law [?]

Ours does automatic back-ups, but you have to be a director before the IT guys would admit it and un-delete e-mails that shouldn't have been deleted.

Basically, if you wanted to delete all evidence of an e-mail you'd had to take an axe to our back-up servers which, in our case, are located somewhere in the Arizona desert.

No-one can understand why CEO of News International is put in charge of an investigation of wrongdoing. She is then replaced as the head of that investigation after a couple of days. 5 mins later on BBC News a Guardian reporter says his paper knows a Senior Exec at News International has been delelting important documents.

Also, why do plod announce they are going to prevent access to the newsroom at NOTW at close of business tomorrow. Do they normally givethe whole world 24 hours warning they are going to seal somewhere off as a crime scene

    Is it just me?
