according to this article, Bruce signed after assurances from Quinny and Short that money from Bents transfer would spent on bringing new players in this summer

I never ever take a national paper seriously on these sort of things. Don't believe for one moment the Daily Telegraph has got an inside source on SAFC so how would they know this!?!?

Anything outside of the Echo press wise I trust only direct quotes.

To some, maybe. I thought the football we played at the start of last season was superior to alot of the stuff we've played this season and it was clear as day we were better than Portsmouth, Hull and Burnley.

We had horrendous injury problems at the time and despite this were playing some OK stuff but conceding in the last minute every other game.

I'd have been tempted to jack it in if Bruce had gone say after the Pompey game away which is when I believe the post was made.

We were safe by march, and the issue was we werent winning enough for the bairns, bigots and bollox spouters. The aforementioned were regarding draws as losses to validate their agenda-driven point of view.
Given the material he was left to work with ( demotivated, disorganised, no bottle ) that we finished 7th bottom was very very creditable

    This bit is incorrect
and the fact that 82% of their £65.5m annual turnover is spent on player wages, they are heavily dependent on Short's enduring input.
The 82% includes non playing wages.
Player wages constitute 71% of turnover at the time of the last accounts
