Been for our walk
I took Osca for his morning walk at 5.30 and we had a chat, he is a clever dog and can pant some very good sense when he wants.
He can tell when its match day, I think he feels the tension at the end of the lead and he looked up and said, suppose I’m being dumped at Annette’s again, my lady, yes I replied you always spend the day there when I go to the footy. I don’t mind he said, always get spoilt there but its you, when you get home, always grumpy lately, why?
I explained, again, how we are on a bad run, how I’m having major doubts about Bruce, concerned about the future, sick of being let down, told him all of this before but sometimes I think he just does not listen.
But dad he said, I’m not his real dad but he calls me that anyway, I quite like it, dad he said, its like this every year, always has been and maybe always will be so why is it so different this year. Well you see son, I call him son, not my real son but he quite likes it, well son, it;s like this. We all got excited because we thought this time was different, this time it was real, this time we would do it. Why did you think that he asked, well because everyone said it was so, all the fans, everyone on SMB, oh that fucking lot Osca said, you spend more time with that lot than me, hit a nerve I think.
Anyway he continued, if you win today, what will happen, in the table? We should move up, maybe to 10th, is that good he asked, yes I said. Then what happens if you win again next week, well we could move up again, maybe 7th or 8th, would that be good he asked, fantastic I said.
Well get a fucking grip dad Osca barked, get a fucking grip, get out there and make me proud, support your team, get them through this blip, get them up the table, stop looking down and start looking up. Bruce, players, transfers are not your problem, supporting your club is so concentrate on that. The past is gone, the present is all we have, the future is for later.
But what if we lose Osca, what then, I will stay with Annette for a few days, enjoy the peace, he winked.
