    Default PS3 or wii?

Husbands 40th coming up and he loves Singstar. We have no games consoles in the house (and not much knowledge of them hence this post). We also have a 5 and 3 year old. The 5 year old is getting into computer games after playing them at his friends house, mainly on a wii. Now I've seen there's wii sing but know nowt about it compared to Singstar. Can anyone offer any advice on the best console to buy? Thanks

Wii for the bairns, PS3 or 360 for him if he likes gaming.

Got a Wii for my daughter a couple of years ago and it's hardly been used. I use my 360 all the time.

Thanks! He doesn't like gaming at all just bloody Singstar! Had a look at PS3 games in store today and cannot see any of them being played so it's a lot of money for one game but then a friend said it's also a Blu-ray player and they've just advertised wii type technology for the PS3. However I think a wii might be better for the kids

With a 3yo and a 5yo in the house, deffo a wii. Better and cheaper games for kids and if your husband is not a gamer, per se, it will probably be enough to keep him entertained, too.

I'm not what you would call a gamer but I do enjoy a few wii games. Mainly Super Mariokart online with mates from all over the place at about 2am when we're all pished.

Have mates as far apart as Spain and Doncaster who all get together for tournaments now and then.

Can't stand all this toy soldiers cack, like C.O.D, like.

Speaking as a man who has both, the novelty of the Wii wears off very quickly. It depends if he really likes gaming, I know for a fact the singstar games are a good riot.

Mind you I bet the kids will love the wii so maybe you should opt for that. Playstations are expensive and if he doesn't like gaming it's probably better to go for the Wii.

Wii's are far more popular with people not used to gaming as its more interactive between players rather then between player and the screen.

PS3 - Futureproof AND there are loads of games for families to interact, especially the musical games like Singstar and Rockband and so on. (and your hubby can have secret sessions on call of duty when the kids are in bed)
