Goldsmiths cock-up
Ok so I bought my sister a Longines divers watch with a rubber strap for her christmas. We took it to Goldsmiths in Dundee to have the strap cut to size. I thought about doing it myself, but I thought best for her to give it to a professional.
Anyway, this "professional" who was the manager, proceeded to jump ahead and take too many pieces out, and now it is too small. Basically it was obviously busy with the sales so he couldn't be bothered to take it out one piece at a time and check the fit each time.
Anyway, he said to my sister that he will have to order from Longines to replace it and that "they're owned by Swatch and Swatch are usually pretty good at giving these replacements free of charge".
Now forgive me if I am mistaken, but whether Swatch send it for free or not, should not be of any concern to us surely? They cocked it up so they should foot the bill if there is one, no?
and how much is a longines rubber strap anyway?
