very good, seems to have a knack of just waiting a second before deciding rather than blowing the instant someone hit the floor.

Bent flung himself to the floor got nowt, Reo-Coker felt a touch and flung himself to the floor got nowt, Downing ditto. Interesting thing is he didn't book any of them when according to the letter of the law he should have, especially Downing. Made for a better game though.

tbh the majority are shocking at best. Atwell is worse than shocking at best, for obviously reasons, but thats another story!

Now, for what Halsey has been though in the past year (his recent illness etc), I think he has came back to be one of the best (better ones) ref's in the EPL. Also, IMO, while he ref'd in the premier, Uriah Rennie (now retired and 51 yesterday) was of better standard then the ref's now-a-days.

Most ref's would've gave at least one penalty yesterday, some would've gave two (the one from Bardo looked a foul and fans couldn't have really complained if he did give it) - and a few more booking would've been on the cards (no pun intended)

    Well done Hasley!

The only issue I had was it looked to me at one point that he had given a goal kick then the villa player just grabbed the ball and went to take a corner???

but he also overruled his linesman in the second half when he (linesman) gave villa a throw in near the corner flag of the SWC but Hasley ruled it was a Sunderland goalkick (iirc)
