Default Any iOS developers on here

Just asking because I'm trying to get into it, but compared to PHP, .NET (c#) and Javascript etc it's bloody difficult to get your head around. I think it's more objective-c that's getting me.

Its very highly object orientated, to the point that even variable types are objects.

Any iOS developers out there? how did you find the learning curve?

If you know clr/oop type languages it's a matter of syntax. It's drastically different to php, and other popular scripting languages.

Learn it's messed up syntax and it's no different to java/c#.

Yeh I'm used to OOP, because although PHP doesn't force you to use it, I tend to use objects a lot.

When I want to do something, I know how I need to do it, it's just figuring out how you do it in objective-c. You can't just set a variable, it's got to be declared somewhere in the header file, and depending on what it's allocated as depends on what you can do with it, then theres the retain/assign shit anarl.

It's odd, just going to take time to get used to it.

I build a calculator the other day, it looks shit but I should put it on the app store for 59p, some fucker will buy it

Well it's just a matter of time, took me about 20 minutes to grasp the syntax changes, still learning the framework mind.

Keep grafting it, you'll get there.
