you need to burn the mp3 files as data- and not as audio - nero is good for this.

Probably a disk compatibility problem. Try a few different brands (scrounge off mates rather than buying a cake box of 100) and see which works best.

Had he burnt them as audio then the player would probably have played them anyway.

To the original poster: you are buring to CD aren't you rather than DVD?

I wouldn't discount the brand of CD just yet but another factor is burn speed. If you're able to drop the burn speed then I'd try that.

If you want Nero and don't want to pay then you'll have to go via a torrent or similar. Depending on the version of Windows you have, you may find compatibility issues. I'm running with Windows 7 and I've found that my old Nero 7 software (which allowed me to control burn speed under XP) no longer works and the Nero updater seems to just remove my old version without installing a replacement.

All of mine work perfectly ok using WMP. Except my car which apparently can't read the disc if there are any image files on (album artwork etc)

Probably the way WMP is Finalising the disks.

    Use a proper burner.
