Anyone else think this should be a priority if any money is avaliable in Jan?

Not sure who should replace Richardson, but he shouldnt be starting in CM for us IMO!

Whether you rate him or not, we are sixth in the table.
He frustrates me at times but SB sees something we dont ( hardly surprising as the majority of us havent got a scooby about footballer attributes ), and our position completely vindicates his continued selection of rico.

Does'nt change the fact that his distribution is truly awful and that his crossing ability is worse. However his pace and closing down of players is something else. Its very rare to find both in a player. Better at left back but couldn't remove bardo at the moment

When Meyler comes back I think him and Cattermole should be used away from home and in matches in against the top sides, especially now Bruce wants to play Bent,Gyan and Wellbeck.

Rico's frustrated me, having watched the Hammers and Bolton matches in person I've been more impressed with Cattermole who "does a job" and keeps things ticking over. Rico's "job" is hard to pin down, lots of running but he gives the ball away (as did many others yersterday) and does not offer anything from set pieces.

Yes were 6th and what's better is that were not playing very well but grinding out results.

Couldn't agree more, while I wouldn't pick Richardson myself it seems to be working for us.

I actually thought he had a decent first half yesterday, didn't notice him much in the second tho.

he was slated on here when he was settling into the LB spot, but by the second half of the citeh game he had it sussed.
He then gets injured, misses over a month and his first game back is the mags ( on as a sub ) and back to midfield.
He's getting back to grips with the cm role, and while I am not his greatest fan, he's improving every game.
However many cant see past certain features and he remains condemned, as was bramble.
I'd prefer someone who's distribution was better, but it may be people are going to have put their prejudices behind them and get behind the lad.
This whole board was wishing we'd get Ireland over the summer. He has been atrocious.
We all know what he's capable of but he's been labelled now.
hero to zero is a very short journey these days

I'd still rather see Jordan there, he manages to keep attacks moving much better with one or two touch passing.

I think Rico gets picked to be Cattermoles runner. Cattermole is slow as fuck, so needs Rico running around him for cover. So a replacement would be someone with equal physical attributes (pace and stamina) and more creativity, but not many of those going atm

We should be sounding out Krancjar right now imho. It's not desperate as we're doing ok, but if we got him in Europe would be a distinct possibility.

We need a proper LB and a playmaker.

Richardson was decent yesterday, but he has been consistantly poor, gives the ball away cheaply, daft fouls etc on a regular basis, so does need replacing.

Cattermole got luck again yesterday although the 1st shouldn't of been a yellow, it doesn't change the fact he knew he was on a yellow and still did the tackle. I just don't think he can help himself and as said above his lack of pace means he is always going to be stretching. He just runs in and seems to say "I'm here now might aswell tackle anyway". If he keeps doing it he is going to keep getting cards its as simple as that.

Meyler didn't look anywhere near fit last week, but will probably be put in next week but hopefully a bit closer to full fitness.

I dont dis-like Richardson, just dont see him having a long term furture as a CM for us. Id play him LB in the long run, however Bardsley has been superb there of late so he would have to wait for his chance.
