    Question "Cherished" plate advice

Have any posters changed a car back to its original reg? Looks pretty straightforward from what the dvla website says but is it really?

I've been offered a car at a bargain price which currently has a cherished plate on. It means nowt to me so I'm thinking of reverting it back to the original reg & see if I could flog the cherished reg.

I think it is £80 to put it on a retainer at least it was last time I did it and they have always in my case put back on the original plate.

    This might help.

Why didn't the opriginal owner do this before he sold it to you? Many people sell the car with the plates and assume they still own the reg, which is unfortunate.
